Controls

  • Q and E to switch between your stations:
    • Anvil (for repairs),
    • Counter (for taking requests and returning items)
  • Use WASD to move while at each station.
  • At the Anvil, hold down the mouse button to hit the hammer. Use the right amount of power for the severity of the dent. Return sword at counter when all fixed.

Gameplay

While at the Counter: use A and D to move between customers as you accept their orders.

While at the Anvil: use W and S to move between swords. At the top left, the name of the sword's owner is displayed, so you can tell which sword to give back.

At the Anvil, hold down the mouse button to hit the hammer harder for more severe dents in the swords, but do not go overboard. You can damage the weapon, decreasing the payment for the repair.

Once you finish the repairs, return to the counter and move with A and D to find the owner of the sword. Return the sword for pay. Make enough money to make it to the next day.

Development Status

The Forge is halfway in development. You can purchase and smelt ingots into swords, but you cannot finish building them yet.

The Whetstone is purely cosmetic for right now, though I hope to add a purpose for it later.

This game was made for the GMTK Game Jam 2023 by a solo developer. Please enjoy it.

Yes, I realize that the title should be The Broken Anvil, not the Broken Forge, but it was low on my priority list at the time.
